Reclaiming Survival Processes in Psychotherapy

Reclaiming Survival Processes in Psychotherapy is a short book for therapists, trainees and supervisors who work with Personality Adaptations and want to hold them relationally rather than as types.

It looks at how adaptations are taught and passed on, how culture, power and difference shape them, how the Ware sequence can support attunement rather than prediction, and what happens when the framework stops explaining what is in front of us. The later chapters turn towards supervision and the therapist’s own adaptations, because we are never outside the process we are trying to understand.
